Bibles
There is no doubt Bibles come in all shapes, sizes and versions. Finding the right one can be tough. While not an exhaustive list by any means, here are a handful of Bibles which either the CCCC staff or ministries recommend.
English Standard Version Bibles
This is the adopted translation of Clear Creek Community Church. We use it exclusively in all our adult services. You can order from a full ensemble of editions directly from the publisher here.

Children's Bibles for PeeWees (Birth through Pre-K)
- My First Study Bible: Exploring God's Word on My Own! – Designed especially for children ages 4 – 7, each Bible story includes an introduction, background information, sidebars with added details, and a summary at the end. This Bible can be purchased at PeeWee Minstries locations on either campus.
We chose this Bible because it most closely follows the adult Bible. Each book of the Bible is represented with an overview accompanied by any children’s stories which are found in that specific book. – Lisa Carden, PeeWee Ministry Director
- The Big Picture Story Bible by David Helm- This book presents the big picture the unified story running through the Old and New Testaments and will help children learn the Bible's whole story and begin to appreciate the fulfillment of God's promise to his people. This Bible can be purchased at PeeWee Minstries locations on either campus.
Both "My First Study Bible" and "The Big Picture Story Bible" complement each other and can be read together. – Lisa Carden, PeeWee Ministry Director
- The Beginner's Bible by ZonderKidz- This kids' book is a selection of 95 illustrated biblical stories.
Children's Bibles for Creek Kids (Kindergarten through 5th Grade)
- The Adventure Bible for Young Readers – This is the NIrV translation which is a NIV modified for younger readers ages 6-10. The NIrV is primary translation used in Creek Kids. You can find other NIrV editions at local Christian bookstores.
The NIrV is available at Christian bookstores in kids’ study versions and in a wide assortment of colors and styles. Take your child to the bookstore with you and allow them to explore the possibilities. - ESV Children's Bible – This is an ESV Bible illustrated for children.
- The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name by Sally Lloyd-Jones – This wonderfully illustrated Bible walks through selected Old and New Testament stories showing how Jesus is the center of it all.
This is absolutely my favorite children's Bible because every individual, beautifully illustrated story ultimately points to the greater Story of Jesus and the good news that is the Gospel. I joyously use this Bible with my own children. – Yancey Arrington, Teaching Pastor
Student Bibles (Junior High and High School)
While the teachers for both Junior High and High School primarily teach from the ESV there are a couple of study Bibles geared for students that they recommend.
- The Life Application Study Bible – With over 10,000 notes, The Life Application Study Bible not only explains difficult passages and provides valuable background on Bible life and times but also shows how God's Word speaks to every circumstance and situation of life. This Bibles comes in NIV and NLT versions.
- The Quest Study Bible – This NIV translation offers in-text notes and articles answering nearly 7,000 of the most commonly asked questions about specific Bible passages. Features include color verse numbers for verses with questions answered in the side column, an article index, plus an expanded subject index that categorizes all articles and side-column notes.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. (Ephesians 6:13, ESV)
